Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) is a statutory body under the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Government of Bangladesh (GOB).It was established by Act No IX of 1990 passed by the Parliament. The main activities are (not limited to) encouraging and providing support for ICT related activities, formulating national ICT strategy and policy, creating standards and specifications of ICT tools for government organizations according to their necessity, working for human resource development in ICT sector. 
Bangladesh Computer Council CA certifying authority (BCC CA) is an only Government Certifying Authority (CA) under the Bangladesh Computer Council. It provides different types of technology oriented services like digital certificates; Web based SSL certificates and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) enablement tools in Bangladesh.
BCC CA has achieved license on 23/01/2014 from regularity authority of Controller of the Certifying Authority.

The Freelancer ID, issued by the Government of Bangladesh, serves as a symbol of recognition and empowerment for the nation’s freelance professionals. It provides official proof of identity, income, and professional engagement, fostering social and institutional acknowledgment for the freelance community.

Each Freelancer ID is valid for three years from the date of issuance and must be renewed upon expiry. To qualify for issuance or renewal, freelancers are required to have a minimum verified income of USD 50 within the last twelve months.
